«Марсель в профиль» — часть моего большого французского проекта Я смотрела на Марсель со стороны моря — с некоторого расстояния и под непривычным углом. Но меня интересовал не просто необычный вид на город. Город, так же, как и его жители тоже несёт следы времени. Поэтому я исследовала Марсель через призму того, как меняющееся со временем пространство продолжает определять его характер. Старый порт, берега, острова, архитектура, новые жители, следы прошлой и современной жизни — всё это складывается в образ города, рисует его профиль. Местные жители часто сравнивают современный Марсель с тем, каким он был раньше. В этом проекте мне интересна сама эта точка сравнения: что меняется в городе, что меняется в восприятии людей и что остаётся узнаваемым в его характере сегодняшнего времени.

MARSEILLE IN PROFILE
«Marseille in Profile» is part of my larger French project. I looked at Marseille from the sea — from a certain distance and from an unfamiliar angle. But I was interested in more than simply an unusual view of the city. The city, like its inhabitants, also carries traces of time. I therefore explored Marseille through the way a space changes over time while continuing to shape its character. The old port, the shores, the islands, the architecture, new inhabitants, and traces of past and present life all come together to form the image of the city, drawing its profile. Local residents often compare contemporary Marseille with the city they remember from the past. What interests me in this project is precisely this point of comparison: what changes in the city, what changes in the way people perceive it, and what remains recognisable in its character today.
